Combining Images 2

This is another method of using two images to make a different one.

 Fig. 1                                                                              Fig. 2
The one on the left is a Layer that has been cut out from another photo. ( This was shown how to do in the Combining Images 1).   The other photo is where I want to put this face and make it fit. ( I painted white on the other face because I don't know who she is).
To start with I need to know the size of the photo on the right, so you can click View>Image Information, and write down the size of it so you can remember.
Then open a new image with that size and with a transparent background.
Once the new image is open, click the Layered image  Fig 1 then the layer toggle button .
The Layer pallette will now show for that image.
With the left mouse button held down on the Layer 1, drag the layer to the blank new image and let go.  It will be very large but that's ok, we'll make it fit.
Next, click the other picture Fig 2 and the Layer pallette will show for that image, and then drag it on top of the other image in the new image window.
Next click the Freehand tool  and then the Tool control .
Set as above
Carefully start your way around the face left clicking until you have made a complete circle, then right click on the face and this is what you see.

Next, click the cut button .
Peek a boo!
Too big huh?  Easy to fix.  Click  Image> Resize, and then go for 50% of the original, and make sure on the bottom that only the Maintain aspect ratio is checked, and not the Resize All Layers.  Click ok.  Now if it's still too big, give it a little more resizing.  And if it's too much, undo it and try a different percentage.  On this one I had to go another 80% for the size to be right.
One other adjustment that I made was to rotate the face 5 degrees to the left.  Go to Image>Rotate.
If you look at the skin color it's way off, so we need to adjust that.  Click Colors>Adjust>Red/Green/Blue.
These are the settings I used.
Finished to this point, click Layers>Merge>Merge All.
In this tutorial the how's are covered but the sample images for you to use are not available.  If you want to print this off, save your ink and print in grayscale.
